Sun City Summerlin was the first neighborhood built in the Summerlin master plan, developed by Del Webb between 1989 and 1999 on the western edge of Las Vegas. Today it is a fully built-out, resale-only community of 7,779 single-family and attached homes, which makes it one of the largest active adult communities in Nevada. Most homes are single-story, with floor plans from roughly 1,000 to just under 2,900 square feet.
Daily life centers on four resident recreation centers: Desert Vista, Mountain Shadows, Pinnacle and Sun Shadows. Together they offer indoor and outdoor pools, fitness centers, a ballroom, a 312-seat theater and space for more than 80 resident clubs. Three 18-hole golf courses, Highland Falls, Palm Valley and Eagle Crest, wind through the neighborhoods, and Downtown Summerlin and Red Rock Canyon are a short drive away. Buyers get mature landscaping, established streets and some of the most accessible prices among Summerlin’s 55+ options.
