If you ask Las Vegas luxury buyers where they want to live, The Ridges comes up again and again. Set on the western edge of Summerlin, close to Red Rock Canyon, it is widely considered the most private address in the valley: a community of custom estates, gated neighborhoods inside a gated community, and sweeping views of the Strip on one side and the Spring Mountains on the other.<\/p>\n

A community of enclaves<\/h2>\n

The Ridges is not one neighborhood but a collection of smaller, individually gated enclaves. Residents pass a main guard gate and then a second gate into their own village. That double layer of security is a big reason executives, athletes and entertainers choose it. It also means showings are by appointment only, arranged through an agent who knows the gatehouse process.<\/p>\n

Homes range from lock-and-leave luxury residences to multi-acre custom estates. Architecture leans toward desert modern: floor-to-ceiling glass, flat rooflines, stone and steel, and outdoor living rooms built around pools and fire features. The higher enclaves are known for unobstructed valley and Strip views.<\/p>\n

What homes cost<\/h2>\n

Pricing varies widely by enclave, lot and view. Recent local market reports put the median sale in The Ridges near $3 million<\/strong>, with luxury residences starting well below that and the largest custom estates trading at $8 million to $20 million-plus<\/strong>. View lots and homes bordering open space consistently command a premium.<\/p>\n

From Bear’s Best to a private club<\/h2>\n

The biggest news in The Ridges is golf. The former Bear’s Best Las Vegas course, a Jack Nicklaus layout of his favorite holes, closed to public play in June 2025 after it was purchased by a group led by Andrew Pascal and Mike Mixer. As reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal<\/em>, the new owners plan to invest up to $300 million<\/strong> to turn it into a private, members-only club, now known as Amara Golf Club<\/strong>, with a new clubhouse, dining and a small collection of luxury villas. For homeowners nearby, a private club next door is expected to add to the area’s appeal.<\/p>\n
